You are familiar with the black hole, but have you heard of the blue hole? No? Let me enlighten you.
Joseph, my busy boy needs to do something with his hands. During our lessons he took his pen and punctured an aluminum can. Like a responsible adult, I remove the can and encourage him to focus on his school work. A few minutes later I hear I strange sound coming from his mouth. His mouth is closed but I can hear a hard substance hitting his teeth. After commanding him to open his mouth, I find the tab to the soda can on top of his tongue. Can tab is removed from my 9 year old’s mouth along with a reprimand that putting such things in one’s mouth is unwise.
Determined to finish our lessons, I instruct him to listen to an audio book. Knowing that my son likes to draw, I find some markers and a notebook for him to doodle on while he listens. I am feeling very good about thinking of this idea and pat myself on the back for being so clever.
I notice that he is making a circle with his blue marker and that the marker bleeds through the thin notebook paper. “Oh well,” I think to myself, “no big deal.”
Upon my return I see a hole, a deep blue hole in the notebook. Joseph has used the ink from the marker to “dig” a hole into his notebook. The whole is 11 papers deep and penetrates to the front cover.

The infamous Blue Hole.
Outraged at this waste of school supplies, I grab the notebook away from him. In the process, a piece of blue saturated paper lands in my bowl of Ramen soup.
Stop the scene.
There are days when life is one problem after another. We put out one fire only to discover that three more have ignited.
I hope you can smile with me as I relive this crazy day. At the time, I felt like shouting and letting my neighborhood know just how frustrated I was. But now I just shake me head and sigh. Oh well, at least it makes a funny blog!
This is my 50th blog and so I thought it should be funny. In spite of the numerous sad blogs, know that I still have my sense of humor. I may be sad, moody and grumpy but I am still very silly.
For those who read, pray, share, and encourage me on this journey, I say a big “thank you!” God is healing and your prayers are making a difference.
Currently, I am sharing some of my earlier blogs on facebook. Pray for wisdom as I decide which ones to choose. I’d appreciate your help in this process. Let me know which blogs were most meaningful to you.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Tina
P.S. I am so thankful for my circle of friends.
