The Secret Place

Once upon a time, four children entered a magical wood.

Once upon a time, four children entered a magical wood. Kenny, the oldest, had grand plans to build a fort by the stream. He and his siblings carried shovels and saws through Golden Passage Meadow,

clambering over Rocky Ridge to the chosen site by the water. A large flat rock hauled out of the earth became the Stone Table.

Logs placed around a fire pit, moss planted on a rock wall, and hot dogs roasting over the fire. . . a perfect place to create cherished memories.

Our family continues to trek to the secret place for times of refreshing.

Where do you go for times of refreshing? The beach? Hershey Park? A Cruise to the Caribbean?

God invites us to His secret place. Where is it? Is there a map and hiking trails to find it?

Here is the invitation:

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 NIV

How does the child of God dwell in God’s secret place?

Let’s worship together. Here is another song I learned as a child. I so appreciate those who put scripture to music. Decades later, these songs still come to mind.

Shout out to my friends in the Lebanon County Chorale Society. Singing in the choir is a balm to my soul. Looking forward to singing The Messiah this season!
