Seasons of Change

I shared with the ladies at my table about some of my current struggles, and suddenly the walls started to fall. . . .

Everything at the women’s retreat was lovely: the decorations, the food, the speakers, the worship. But I was in a bit of a funk and struggling with a negative attitude. Did I really want to be here?

On day two there was a change; something shifted inside of me. I shared with the ladies at my table about some of my current struggles, and suddenly the walls started to fall and ladies began to share from their hearts.

The speakers invited us to taste and see that the Lord is good even during difficult seasons of change. Psalm 34 was the key passage, and the phrase that stood out to me was: “Take refuge in God when you can’t see the goodness of God.”

Here are my doodle notes:

I picture my heart taking refuge behind the thick walls of God’s fortress.

I will choose to look to Him and trust Him with my wounded heart even when I don’t understand and can’t see His goodness in the painful circumstances of my life.

Shout out to all who volunteered to serve at the women’s retreat! My heart was encouraged.

This song was played during the ladies’ retreat and was also played at my wedding when I walked down the aisle.
