School is canceled and Amber has off from work. She has planned the perfect snow day:
- Waffles for breakfast
- Hot cocoa and popcorn for snacks
- Christmas movie at noon
- Creating snowflakes from paper for craft time.
As she and Joseph hurry up the stairs for craft time, mom calls out “Happy Snowflaking!”

Simple pleasures abound all around us. Each season stores treasures of joy if we have eyes to see. The eyes of children find these treasures with great delight unlike the clouded eyes of adults who often only see problems.
Do you remember the excitement you once had when someone said the word “Christmas”?
Yes, there was a time when I delighted in the holidays, but now I heave a heavy sigh as I contemplate all that needs to be done. When did I become so old and scrooge like? Where is the joy? Where is the wonder?
Prayer
Good morning, Father God,
I need your help to find joy again. Where is it hiding? I don’t want to be a grump during the holidays. Would you restore the delight of this season? Would you show me how to see wonder once again in the treasures of life that surround me?
Your daughter,
Tina
Scripture
“When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.” (Matthew 2:10)
One activity that fills me with joy is singing. This year I am part of a local choir and want to invite you to our concert. Pray for myself and the other vocalists that we stay healthy and that God is glorified through our music.
