Messy Life Morphs into a Message

Turn my messy life into a message.

This Sunday is Youth Sunday, and that means the youth lead worship. What a joy it is to see our daughter Amber and her friend Aniyah singing praises with the rest of the worship team!

One of the youth pastors shares the message. Even though he discusses a very difficult story from Genesis 19, he encourages us with these words:

“Forget the former things;
    do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
    Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland
(Isaiah 43:18-19)

After the service, I head towards the prayer team located at the front of the church. I share my prayer request with one of the ladies, and she holds my hands as she begins to pray. During her prayer, she uses this phrase: “Turn my messy life into a message.” Yes, Lord, I agree with my sister-in-Christ: turn my messy life into a message!

Prayer

Father God,

We ask that You would transform our messy past into a message of Your power and grace. Thank You for springing up a new life for us from the ashes of our past. We are choosing to press on in our healing journey, knowing that You will make a way for us.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen

Shout out to those on the prayer team who faithfully intercede with us each week. Thank you for serving in this vital role at our church.
