Climbing the red diamond trail in Mt. Gretna, we reach our destination: the remains of the tower. Many years ago, inside this tower, a little girl was lying on a bed of ferns, starving. Her mother withheld food from her and planned to let her die. Now that little girl returns as a woman seeking restoration.
Deja Vu and Hungry share more details
My husband, Sean, and I look upon the remains of this place. Sean stands on a large rock by the entrance, while I sit on a portion of the wall. As I grieve, a little girl walks into view. She has dark brown hair adorned with a purple butterfly barrette. Her voice is sweet and innocent. I watch as she sits opposite me on the other side of the wall, eating her crackers. Her parents sit on either side of her. She is loved and feels no fear.
When it is time for her to leave, she puts on her backpack and walks out of the enclosure. I watch her leave, and I am thankful that this place that once held such dread has been transformed by the beauty of this little girl and her family.
The journey of restoration is when God helps you release the pain from your past and replaces it with his healing touch. Sean sits next to me on the wall as I thank God for sparing my life and ask for His help to heal.

that we may be saved” (NIV Psalm 80:3)
Prayer
Father God,
Thank you for transforming a place of dread to a place with new hope-filled memories. I pray for other women like myself, who were abused as children. Show them the path they should take to be restored.
I picture you holding me in your lap, this small, scared child who lives inside my soul. In Your arms, the fears melt away and she is laughing with joy.
Oh my Jesus, how I love you. You are so gentle and kind.
Today I choose to hold on tight to You!
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
How sweet and like our Lord to give a visual in that place of past hurt. He has ways of showing up in unexpected ways sometimes and it can be so powerful.Hugs to you,Elaine
