Scene 1
Message from Tina to therapist: I have an idea I would like to try during trauma therapy. I need a dummy of some sort that I can vent my anger on.
I am going to make one . . . and when I get angry, I am going to yell at it.
Scene 2
Tina creates a life-size silhouette of the head of a man. She tapes a yardstick to the back with a wire hanger and then drapes a black shirt over the hanger. Her prop is ready.
Scene 3
Sean, Tina, and Paul meet for therapy. After Sean opens our session with prayer, Tina shares her idea with the group.
“I am going to do a skit of the night a man came into our hotel room. I want my small self to have a voice and tell the man to go away.”
The three of them discuss how to proceed with the skit. Paul decides to sit in the corner of the room where he can see Tina. Sean holds the prop of the “bad man” as he stands in the doorway. The lights in the room are turned off but the lights in the hallway remain on. Tina lays on the floor with a pillow and a bed sheet. The stage is set.
Paul encourages Sean and Tina to spend a few minutes in prayer. Tina prays and asks God to help her.
Scene 4
Tina visualizes the scene in her mind. She is a toddler sleeping in a hotel room next to her mother. Tina sees the silhouette of a man in the doorway and says:
“Mommy, there is a man in our room.”

Scene 6
Tina sits down and slowly releases her pain through heavy sighs. She begins to sing the song, “Jesus Loves Me,” and the tears begin to flow.
Sean sits next to Tina as Paul starts to ask a few questions.
Paul asks, “Tina, what is God saying to you right now?”
Long pause.
“I think God is saying, ‘You go, girl!’” Tina shares about a previous experience of God asking her to get out of the boat and walk to Him during a storm. “That is what I am doing.”Liberty in Christ
Tina shows joy and excitement as she thinks about herself being brave.
